So yes, we are moving back to the mainland.  No official date has been set, but we have decided to extend out until next year for various reasons.
So that gives me a chance to go back to the mainland for a few visits this year.  Part of the trip will be in Washington August and September.  And again, traveling November / December with the Tour ending in Texas.

I remind myself as well as everyone who listens – talking saves lives.
It takes courage to talk.  It takes strength to talk.  Having problems doesn’t make you weak.  Everyone has problems.  Talking will help.
Remember that your thoughts are just thoughts.  You can change your thoughts.
I am continually reminded of the importance of talking.

Learning As I Grow! - Light of Jah Harvest and Something new growing.
Since last, we casted out to the world, I lost a few plants to Hermaphroditism.  Cannabis plants are dioecious, meaning there are separate male and female plants. Whereas many plants can pollinate themselves, dioecious plants require a member of the opposite sex for reproduction.
However, the cannabis plant has a fascinating adaptation that allows females who suspect a lack of male pollen to develop male sex organs and pollinate themselves. Known as hermaphroditism, this trait is key to the species’ survival in the wild, but it doesn’t bode well for good harvests!
Caused by stress.  Some of the major stressors are:
⦁ Disruption in flowering stage photoperiod (e.g. light leaks)
⦁ Too hot or cold
⦁ Too little water
⦁ Infestation
⦁ Physical stress, such as training during the flowering period
⦁ Incorrect fertilization
⦁ pH imbalance
Another factor that can trigger hermaphroditism is waiting too long to harvest. If the flowers go too long without being pollinated, this tells them there are likely no male plants nearby, and that if they want to produce seeds, they’ll need to pollinate themselves. So, harvesting on time is crucial to avoiding hermies, and to achieving top-quality bud.
Simply put - The flower grows bigger and bigger adding more and more sticky trichomes to attract pollen.  Once the flower is pollenated it stops producing trichomes and puts all its energy into growing seeds.
My grow was pretty good.  And all reports back to me on the quality have been positive.  I like the finished product, but only wish I could have grown them all out to harvest.  My own fault with a flawed light schedule.
I pulled 4 plants and left 2 to finish growing.    After a week I realized that one of the 2 remaining plants had indeed formed pollen sacks and grew seeds.  After harvesting her a week early and drying her out I was able to collect a few seeds.
Out of curiosity, I put 3 seeds in the germinator.  After 8 days, 2 of the 3 had sprouted.  After a few weeks 1 of those 2 has survived.
Always something to learn in the grow room.
Currently growing is Strawberry Ice, White Queen and Matanuska Thunder.  Legend has it that this variety has its origin in the grasslands of the Matanuska Valley in Alaska.
I will keep you updated as we grow along.

Pause for the Cause song - I was going through some of my favorites the other day and realized that I haven't played much Floyd in the cast.  Also was putting stickers on my tip jar for my gigs and one of the stickers says Shine On SYD.  So, this episode we go on what I consider to be one of the greatest musical adventures you can take.  A tribute to Syd Barrett, an original member of Pink Floyd.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part 1-5 and 6-9.  Not together on the album, split by three other tunes.  Roger Waters decision.

So much to talk about when it comes to Floyd, I could easily do this every episode, but I won't.  Not everyone Loves Floyd.
