This episode brought to you under the influence of Light of Jah #7 & 8.  The last two harvested from the porch plants.  Surprisingly the THC level and the terpene profile is extremely pleasant.  I have decided to change the way I grow from now on, due to the results of the plants finished in Natural Sun Light, but able to be moved undercover during heavy rain.

Learning As I Grow! - Summer Harvest of Light of Jah, White Queen and Strawberry Ice.
Harvest went pretty good.  Only a few problems to report.  The Grey Mold (Botrytis) did get me in a few buds, but I was able to isolate those plants and make sure to watch them closely and remove any signs of Botrytis or Grey Mold.  I have found that each plant that had early signs of Botrytis continued to have issues even after removing the effected buds.  Sometimes I would go down and remove the entire branch to see if it would prevent further issues, but it does not...at least not here in the rainforest at 2444'.  This grow seemed to have more issues of White Powdery Mildew.  The good thing is that WPM is only a mild problem.  It really doesn't affect the buds as much as the leaves.  Trimming off or pulling off effected areas was an easy fix in the final days, but early on I should have used more preventative measures with a regular cycle of Lost Coast Plant Therapy treatment.  I have more issues with WPM in the greenhouse with Peas and Tomato plants than I do with the cannabis in early stages.
A couple of plants I had picked to grow out a little longer to stagger the harvest and provide a nice back drop for the Misty Mountain Studio Summer Harvest Jam (video on youtube soon).  They are in the curing process.  I was surprised that overall quality was good and the potency is right where I thought it would be, Moderate - High.  The difference between the strains is noticeable with the Light of Jah 7 and 8 having a better overall result and the White Queen having more of a stronger terpene profile (smells) and less potency...what does that mean - it smells and taste good, but with a lower dose of THC than the Light of Jah.
One thing I was able to do this grow was to cross-pollinate different strains.  With a Light of Jah plant that Hermied (hermaphrodite and made her own pollen to make seeds), I pollinated a White Queen and a Strawberry Ice Plant to get Straw Jah and Queen of Jah.  Very exciting for me to be able to trick a plant into forming pollen sac's and then getting seeds from other plants that I used her pollen for.  The result is a seed that will only grow female plants, also known as Feminized Seeds.
I gave out several samples of these flowers to a wide variety of people and so far the feedback has been all positive.  Still waiting on a few critiques to filter in.
Someone ask me one night while I was on stage talking about being a "Licensed Cannabis Farmer"..."How Much for an ounce??"  
I had to explain to him that I don't sell my flowers, I give them away.  I have never sold any cannabis grown here at Misty Mountain Studio.  I always feel good about giving it away and sharing it.  I usually travel with a dozen or so spliffs for my gigs to give away, so if you are on the Island and you see me playing, come by and ask to "Get Lifted".

Got some new cards or crutches made up for the 55 Trips Tour.  I incorporated the logo that my Brother made for me and included a few hidden items in the card.  It is 55 squares representing each trip around the Sun that I have taken, currently on my 55th Trip.  So I had the idea that maybe the card lady in Hilo could get this design on a card and it would be sort of an inside joke.  She wanted to enlarge the picture and it wouldn't have had all the squares on it, and I tried to explain to her, without telling her exactly what I was trying to do.  She said "It's hard to see when it's small"... I told her they will use their phone to magnify it.  
But, I'm going to reveal the inside part.  When we were teenagers in high school, or maybe younger for some, we would get sheets of acid.  LSD.  Now only a few hits or tabs would be plenty for one person, but someone had to go get the stuff and usually it was a sheet of 10 to 15 hits or sections....so the card is a playoff of that.  55 Trips, 55 squares on the card, yada yada yada... you get it?! 
yeah you get it!  
I always felt like that was the ultimate "Ticket to Ride".  Just put that little tab of paper on your lounge and the next thing you know your "wandering around behind the little animals".  Now every time was a little different and it's always unique for each individual, but it is also a shared experiance in some ways.  That's how we can look at these little cards, crutches, and think back to some amazing times we had together...trippin' our asses off.  
I strongly suggest you never experiment with anything you are not certain is "Clean and Healthy"...mushrooms, cannabis, ect.,  A lot of debate over "hallucinogenic therapies" recently.  With significant results for PTSD and depression.  I don't abuse any pills, powder or processed poison of any kind,., anymore.  It's just so risky now with all the stuff that is killing people.  Overdose rates are on the rise here on our Island of Hawaii.  
I will say this...None of those people died from a plant.  Of course, if you have listened to this podcast or you know me personally, that is not how I lived my life for a very long time.  I took risk at almost every turn, but I was on a different path then.  Now "I'm trying to stack of my rights so they can outnumber some of my wrongs."
I got a ticket to ride, several tickets, Airline tickets...Yes I am going back to the mainland for a visit in just a few weeks.  Traveling November & December with the 55 Trips Tour ending in Texas for my Birthday - 12/23.
